Powercast's Wireless Charging Grip Invites Switch Marathons!

The Nintendo Switch is a bit odd compared to the other mainstream consoles on the market. Out of the box, there is no way to charge its Joy-Con controllers while in dock mode. What’s more, it is only possible to charge two Joy-Cons at a time. Meanwhile, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 can use USB cables to extend playing sessions without the need to worry all that much about battery power. Fortunately, devices like Powercast's Wireless Charging Grip exist.

This accessory allows players to slot two Joy-Cons into its ergonomic design which can then charge them thanks to its built-in battery pack which can hold about 26 hours of charge. What’s more, Powercast Corporation, the leader in radio-frequency (RF)-based over-the-air wireless power technology, has made it possible for this device to charge wirelessly when the controller is within one foot of their PowerSpot transmitter. This makes it easy to charge the controllers between sessions. The grip can also be connected via USB for wired gaming. Powercast’s Wireless Charging Grip is, hands down, one of the most convenient ways to play on the Nintendo Switch for extended periods of time.

The Wireless Charging Grip will also connect to a mobile app for Android and iOS for monitoring the charging status of the grip and other PowerSpot-enabled devices, downloading firmware updates, and more.

Charles Greene, Ph.D., chief operating and technical officer of Powercast, believes in the quality and versatility of the company’s Wireless Charging Grip, stating, “wired charging delivers high power for a fast charge, while over-the-air charging delivers more convenient, lower power over an extended period of time. Powercast’s highly efficient RF harvesting system optimizes power delivery over the air for a high performance, easy-to-use alternative to wired charging.”
